So hey wow yeah 2008 was flipping awesome! 2009, what's your deal?
I believe everything happens for a reason, so here goes: I was laid off from my job last week.
It wasn't entirely unexpected as these tough economic times have affected many friends of mine, and people all over the country. I am already following up on a lot of great leads, which I have access to through being a member of this solidly amazing creative community in Philadelphia. (You can read more about Philly's geeky awesomeness in this great article from last week's Philadelphia Weekly).
I am sure something interesting will pan out, just wanted to give you all a heads up, because maybe there's something exciting out there I don't know about (how could I not know about it!?). In the meanwhile, I will briefly contemplate the indie lifestyle, and look for my next adventure.
(update 1.28.09: job acquired!)
We're pullin' for you, Roz! :) 2009 will turn around.

Good luck, Roz. It's a bitch out there, but you'll land on your feet.

If anyone can find a new spot, it's a versatile one like you!

Wow I am a bit late on hearing about this, sorry for the delayed response. From everything I've seen, you are AWESOME at what you do and you'll have plenty of new opportunities. In the mean time, come keep us ladies company at indy hall some times? We're trying to even out the gender ratio :-)

I wish you the best of luck. It's rough out there, but just putting things out there like in your blog post can help. Right now, a lot of companies are moving to Open Source technologies to save money as well as going to servers in the cloud. My advice to anyone wanting to work in the web is to look for companies headed in this direction.

Hopefully the community can help you out here, the way you've helped out the community. Good luck!
